About

b. 1979, NO.

Ida Windingstad (b.1979) work often takes form as a mix between poetry and politics that immerses us into a symbolic and surreal world. Here art reflects her interest in storytelling and its connection to the unconscious and archetypes. By breaking down classic narratives and narrative structures she wants to explore whether surrealism and documentary representations of reality can be the same or if they are totally different phenomena. Her work mostly consists of videos, texts, textile and installations. Windingstad is living and working in Stavanger, Norway.

Windingstad has a background as a scriptwriter and director before she attended the project program in video art at The Royal Institute Of Art In Stockholm in 2012. She has also studied visual communication, video, photography art history at Konstfack, Stockholm.

Windingstad is living and working in Stavanger, Norway.
